| Its been two whole years since I last wrote in this thing I think. Well, this xanga has been good to me, and I guess I'm gonna put it rest. That shouldn't be discouraging to any of you, since I'll still use it to comment on your lives. But still, I guess I've moved on:
My Blog can be found at http://www.riceric.com/liu
Most of my new writing should be there.
Enjoy!

| Yeah, so I figure it's time for an update on myself. Life is pretty good so far. Over break, I went to tennis practice, chilled, and also met family and friends in Toronto. Otherwise, studying for APWH, or any AP is a major pain. Tennis season is going alright, but I think I lost my starting spot for now. Oh well I'll gain it back. But yeah, lets upload some pics.
 A nice family photo

Another fact: One drop of komodo dragon poison is enough to kill seven elephants!
Today, our school held an event called Rachel's Challenge. I really encourage you guys to check out the website. The speaker was Shane Hamman, who is the strongest person in America. You may remember seeing him during the Olympics, (or in that Allstate commericial, where the weight drops down like 3 floors and crushes the car). Rachel's Challenge is a program, actually more a legacy, left behind by Rachel Joy Scott, one of the victims from the Columbine Tragedy. Even though this happened more than 6 years ago, her memory still lives on, and is making an impact in the lives of countless people. Rachel was a person, who wanted to show compassion everywhere she went, and wanted to reach out. Whenever she sensed an injustice being done to someone, no matter how
small or seemingly insignificant it was, indignation rose up within
her. She was always ready to stand up for anyone who she felt was
mistreated. This is a truly remarkable story of love, friendship, and faith. Rachel was only sitting in the grass outside her school eating lunch with one of friends. The two gunmen saw her and asked her if she would renounce her Christian faith. She boldly replied no, and her life was taken on the spot. What a testimony of faith too. I think that the world needs more people like Rachel. The story personally touched me because of all the legacies she left behind. There are so many acts of compassion she did, and stories about her life, that make me want to strive to be like her. It is still such a mystery to me on why the good die young... Personally, this impacted me. Rachel left five, simple challenges to all those who hear about her story. They are (as I remember) 1. Eliminate Prejudices 2. Do little acts of kindness 3. Write in a journal 4. Reach out to others 5. Tell those closest to you how much you appreciate them I don't know how much of an effect this will have on Penfield High School. The goal of the program is to start a "chain reaction" of kindness. I have a lot of doubt on how successful it will be. Penfield needs this though, after this year. I always imagine a utopian society devoid of pain, sorrow, and guilt. I know that those are just fantasies (at least in this world), but I can't help wonder how far a simple act of kindness can go. Hey, you never know if you don't try.

| Parents expect children to behave like adults and be mature.
But its really stupid when the parents themselves behave like little 6-year olds and throw fits, and the kids are drawn into it, and they have to be the adults. Sigh... | | |
| So much work...wish I was somewhere else, like back in China or something. It would be nice just to get away for a while.
Chilling with my grandmother in the middle of West Lake would be nice...
Or just sitting on top of a camel...lol
Or rolling with the two best cousins in the world. The one on the right is the "crazy one", while my oldest cousin is the "responsible one". Unlike a lot of people, I only have 2 cousins. Too bad I can beat both of them in basketball.

| No, this isn't an article about me "missing" school. I probably dislike school as much as any other teenager. But its really uncool when you have to make up like 5 classes of work even if you actually did something more useful with your time than school itself. Oh well. But I found out one thing that I really want when I grow up!
